This charity event is being held in order to raise money for 4 Wheel to Heal (4W2H) to support their current endeavors. 4W2H is dedicated to taking wounded veterans, from all branches of service, to off-roading events. These events involve four wheeling, rock crawling, mud bogging, shooting and camping. Their mission is to boost morale for these veterans and give them an experience they will never forget.
Built To Heal was created with the expectation that a few friends would show up and help raise a little bit of money for a cause we all cared about. During that first year, we had less than 40 participants and ended up donating around $400. 2014 saw a sharp increase in attendance and a donation of around $4,000. Our 2015 registration turned 400 registered participants and we were able to raise $6,000. Our 4th event, in 2016, also brought in just under 400 participants and a donation of $6,800. The event in 2018 was able to help raise around $11,000 prior to the event through sponsors, and just under $10,000 through raffle tickets and event t-shirts. We are incredibly excited to see what 2019 will bring!
The event consists of a full day of wheeling with a group at Rausch Creek. In the early evening, we have dinner which is a cook-out style meal prepared by volunteers. Once everyone has gotten a chance to eat, we begin the raffle in the pavilion behind the main office.
We collect the money to be donated through raffle ticket and event t-shirt sales. This year, however, we are instituting a new policy. All sponsors (Tier 1-3) must make a donation directly to 4W2H in order to have their logo on the event t-shirts and banner, in addition to their raffle donation. This event is about raising money for a cause, and we want to keep it that way.
We sincerely hope that you will consider joining with us as we charge ahead to seize the goal!
